Mr. Kang’oro is a banking and financial professional with over nineteen years’ experience, gained working across Nairobi, Johannesburg, Gaborone and London. Top on the list of his vast experience is a ten-year tenure at Standard Bank of South Africa, in various roles; Head- Client Coverage, East Africa, Head- Credit and Corporate Investment, Rest of Africa, with his most recent role being at the forefront as Head of Oil & Gas Sector, East Africa, leading business origination teams in East Africa, specifically targeting the emerging oil and gas industry.
Prior to joining Standard Bank of South Africa, he served in different capacities at Barclays Africa; Corporate Credit Director, Rest of Africa; Senior Manager Barclays Business Support, over a ten-year period.
He has over the years (2004-2013) represented both Barclays and Standard Bank on the Credit Committee of the Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund, a fund focused on developing infrastructure across Africa. He is currently a Non-Executive Director of the Fund in his personal capacity.
